Ms. Alexis Stolarun is a highly qualified music educator and educational leader. Ms. Stolarun earned her bachelor's degree in music education from Central Connecticut State University in 2007. Ms. Stolarun earned a masters degree in education from the University of St. Joseph and a sixth year degree in educational leadership from the University of Connecticut.   Ms. Stolarun has earned recognition and acceptance into the International Honor Society in Education: Kappa Delta Pi and the International Honor Society and Professional Association In Education: Pi Thambda Theta. 


Ms. Stolarun has experience teaching and working with students from PK to grade 12.
Ms. Stolarun has taught at Ellington Public Schools, Manchester Public Schools and CREC (Capital Region Education Council). Ms. Stolarun's favorite grade level to teach is middle school as "every day is a new adventure when working with middle school students!" Ms. Stolarun taught music for the last eleven years, before pursuing and earning an educational leadership position as high school dean of student at CREC's Metropolitan Learning Center, in Bloomfield Connecticut.  Prior to being a dean of students, Ms. Stolarun taught band and orchestra at CREC's Two Rivers Magnet Middle School in East Hartford Connecticut.  Ms. Stolarun directed multiple grade level concert bands and orchestras, as well as directed a symphonic band, jazz ensemble and chamber orchestra. Ms. Stolarun's students regularly earned Gold Metal Adjudication rankings in a yearly music festival and competition by Fantastic Festivals.  



Ms. Stolarun also currently serves as the K-12 district-wide curriculum facilitator for the arts within CREC. Ms. Stolarun has presented on numerous professional development topics for teachers varying from utilizing multiple intelligences in the classroom, teacher evaluation and the Danielson Framework, school safety procedures, Core 6 instructional strategies, using common language as a united school, and utilizing Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) to work with students.  Ms. Stolarun also serves on CREC's district council for Professional Development and Teacher Evaluation and is a complementary evaluator and team mentor.

Hobbies & Interests:
  • Kayaking, cooking, painting, jewelry making, playing multiple instruments (my favorites include flute & trumpet), traveling, spending time with my family and enjoying a day at the beach.
